Where to start?....
Started building Christmas Displays when I was 16, at the family home in Vancouver near Rupert and Kingsway.
I saw a design in a craft wood working book we had and decided to build a Santa in a sleigh and 4 reindeer which had moving legs and Santa’s arm waved. It just continued from there.
In 2000 my wife, my 2 daughters and myself moved to our present home at 8222 Burnlake Drive, Burnaby
Been donating to BC Children’s Hospital since 1998.
The display is always changing and growing each year.
Some items in the display have been around for over 30 years.
I take the month of November off from work to build the display.
Most of the design, assembly and repair is done by myself but I do get help from family and friends to get the major stuff in place.
Many late nights are spent repairing and building elements of the display each year.
In 2014 I began using a computer program called HLS and Renard AC controllers. There are 108 controllable channels.
In 2024, I changed the musical programming for our display over to Xlights which has opened a whole new world of light sequencing with the use of RGB pixels.
