About

Where to start?....

  • Started building Christmas Displays when I was 16, at the family home in Vancouver near Rupert and Kingsway.

  • I saw a design in a craft wood working book we had and decided to build a Santa in a sleigh and 4 reindeer which had moving legs and Santa’s arm waved. It just continued from there.

  • In 2000 my wife, my 2 daughters and myself moved to our present home at 8222 Burnlake Drive, Burnaby

  • Been donating to BC Children’s Hospital since 1998.

  • The display is always changing and growing each year.

  • Some items in the display have been around for over 25 years.

  • I take the month of November off from work to build the display.

  • Most of the design, assembly and repair is done by myself but I do get help from family and friends to get the major stuff in place.

  • Many late nights are spent repairing and building elements of the display each year.

  • In 2014 I began using a computer program called HLS and Renard AC controllers. There are 108 controllable channels.

  • I hoping to change the program over to xLights and begin using addressable pixels for the 2022 Christmas season. Cross your fingers.
